Here is a selection of photos we made of the University of Cincinnati’s new 61-million dollar Health Sciences Building after its completion in the Summer of 2019.
The building is part of a Medical Campus Master Plan that included a 34 million dollar renovation to Kowalewski Hall, located across an outdoor green space and linked by a pedestrian path. The HSB is a new significant piece of architecture, designed by Perkins+Will, who are based out of Chicago. The building is strategically located within an outdoor green space surrounded by a unifying pedestrian path that establishes health outside spaces to enjoy and encourage collaboration among the Academic Health Center colleges.
It’s a four-story, 117,000 square foot structure consisting of classrooms, labs and offices. Classrooms and faculty offices will be located throughout the building, with labs in the south wing and offices primarily in the north wing. A large center atrium featuring a North-facing skylight that runs from East to West will provide natural light and allow for a majority of rooms to have windows.
